Stairs Races For 2 Players

Stairs Races For 2 Players — press play to start

Stairs Races For 2 Players is a local 1v1 race on a single device. Player 1 (Blue) and Player 2 (Red) each run around a shared 3D arena collecting blocks of their own color, then carry them back to their personal staircase to add steps. The first player to build their staircase to the finish platform wins. Both players play simultaneously on the same screen — keyboard split (WASD vs. arrows) on desktop, split-screen touch on mobile.

How to play

You run your character around the arena to colored blocks scattered across the level, pick them up by touching them, and carry them back to your staircase. Each delivered block adds one step. The first staircase to reach the platform wins. Strategy splits between speed (grab the closest blocks first) and zoning (race opponents to blocks they were heading toward). Bumping the other player can briefly stall them.

Controls

  • Player 1 keyboard: WASD to move.
  • Player 2 keyboard: arrow keys to move.
  • Touch: split-screen halves with on-screen joysticks for each player.

Tips & tricks

  • Don’t be greedy with stacks — carry one or two blocks at a time. Heavy loads slow your run.
  • Block-deny when you’re ahead. Grabbing a block your opponent was running toward is worth two of your own.
  • Map the arena in the first ten seconds. Knowing where your colored blocks cluster wins more games than fast fingers.
  • Watch the staircase counts. If your opponent is one step from finishing, stop collecting and start blocking.

What makes it good

We picked it because same-device 1v1 is a vanishing genre on the open web — most multiplayer has moved online — and the simple rules make it actually playable with a friend or a kid sharing the laptop.
